Meet the experienced doctors of Haywood Family Eye Care
Dr. E. Aimée McBride – Optometrist
Dr. McBride attended Clemson University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biosystems Engineering. She obtained her optometric education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, where she graduated Valedictorian of her class in 2012. Throughout her education, Dr. McBride was privileged to work with excellent mentors and receive specialized training in ocular disease, contact lenses, pediatrics, vision therapy, low vision rehabilitation, and refractive and cataract surgery co-management. In addition, she was able to participate in many community service activities, including providing free vision care for homeless and low-income patients and traveling to Honduras to provide eye examinations. In her free time, Dr. McBride enjoys photography, traveling, and spending time with her husband, two sons, Great Dane, and Coonhound. She looks forward to providing you and your family with comprehensive vision care.
Dr. Thomas Pinkston – Optometrist
Dr. Pinkston is a native of Florida and attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate education. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After graduation, he completed a residency in ocular disease and refractive surgery at the prestigious Woolfson Eye Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, where he co-managed cataract and refractive surgery patients. Following his residency, he practiced in Alpharetta, Georgia. In 2015 he was named “Young Optometrist of the Year” by the Georgia Optometric Association and was Vice President of the Greater Atlanta Optometric Association. Dr. Pinkston currently serves as the Vice President for the Mountain District Optometric Society. The Pinkstons relocated to Western North Carolina in May of 2016 and are happy to call this beautiful area their permanent home. Dr. Pinkston enjoys spending time with his wife and children, exploring western NC, and classic cars. Dr. Pinkston believes the key to great eye care is a continued focus on communication with each individual patient.
