Weronika Przepiora, O.D. – Optometrist

Dr. Weronika Przepiora (pronounced “Veh-ROH-nee-kah Sha-PEER-ah”), whose Polish surname often sparks curiosity, grew up in Sarasota, Florida, and pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, where she earned a degree in Biochemistry with minors in Disabilities in Society and Spanish.

She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. During her time there, she served as a student ambassador and completed clinical rotations at the Orlando VA Medical Center and a private practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Following optometry school, Dr. Przepiora completed a residency in Primary Care with an emphasis in Ocular Disease at the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina. Through this training, she gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease, as well as the fitting of medically necessary specialty contact lenses.

Now a proud resident of Western North Carolina, Dr. Przepiora looks forward to becoming an active member of the community and exploring all that the mountains have to offer. Outside of her professional interests, she enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, and discovering new coffee shops. She is also trilingual, speaking Polish, Spanish, and English.
